Our Managing Partners

Simon is a UK-qualified international corporate and commercial lawyer and has over 14 years' experience in advising individuals and entities globally on a wide range of complex and high-value corporate and commercial projects, specifically within the TMT, sport, entertainment and leisure & hospitality sectors. Simon specialises in providing strategic advice on business, commercial and legal issues and is often retained in a business and commercial advisory role in conjunction with that of legal counsel.
Simon has advised many leading global brands and multinational companies and is responsible for a number of industry firsts and record-breaking transactions. Simon was recently recognised by his inclusion in the 2010 editions of ‘Who’s Who of Britain’s Business Elite – Young British Leaders’ and ‘Who’s Who of Britain’s Business Leaders’.
Until the turn of 2010, Simon was a Partner in DLA Piper’s No.1 ranked (Legal 500) IPT/TMT (Intellectual Property and Technology / Technology, Media & Telecommunications) team, of which he was an instrumental part and which he helped build from scratch following his joining DLA Piper prior to their opening their office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("UAE") in May 2006. Upon being promoted to Partner on 1 January 2008, Simon became the youngest partner at DLA Piper, which is currently the World’s largest global business law firm.
Prior to joining DLA Piper, Simon worked in the Abu Dhabi office of another leading international law firm, and prior to that, in the United Kingdom ("UK") as international counsel to a major global (NYSE listed) plc. Simon trained and qualified as a solicitor in the UK and has lived and worked in the Middle East and Asia since 2004.
After acting as Chief Legal Officer for the Doha Film Institute and Director of Group Legal of Dubai Properties Group (Dubai Holding), Simon became Co-Founder of a business set to revolutionise the legal industry. Dean is a serial entrepreneur with over 25 years' experience in owning and managing businesses across Europe, Asia, Africa and the MENA region. He currently retains business interests in 4 continents.
In addition to Dean's experience in setting up and operating businesses, he has significant expertise in acting as a strategic advisor and consultant, mentor, equity partner and angel investor, and has since 1997 been advising significant corporate entities down to SME's on a wide range of business issues, including business & industry strategy, management strategy, sales and marketing strategy, identifying new market opportunities, customer retention and development, cost savings initiatives & cost control, leadership & management, workforce motivation & development, product & service development, logistics & supply solutions, after sales & customer care and recruitment. Dean is particularly known for his intuitive creative strategy in identifying growth opportunities and successful direction for existing businesses.
A business owner since his early twenties, Dean has in turn built two separate businesses from start-up to become multi million dollar concerns (one as a pan european operation) before selling to a major global telecommunications plc and a Switzerland bluechip. Both businesses were entirely self-financed, from inception to exit.
A truly global citizen, Dean spends much of his time travelling, immersing and learning from different cultures whilst at the same time exploring new business opportunities. Even more than travelling, Dean takes considerable time to indulge his personal passion for sport, and is involved in organising several local and regional sporting activities.
Dean has a thirst for knowledge and relishes the continued challenge of new opportunities. Between his home bases of Dubai and Hong Kong, his business focus has turned to mentoring businesses and entrepreneurial individuals, whilst still engaging in his passion for sport.
